When small businesses come together, some pretty amazing things happen. Introducing, URBAN AFTERNOONS.
Inspired by the slow fashion movement, local hidden talents, and the shadowy corners of Maryborough, this styled shoot was dreamt up in rushed conversations with Sotik from Open City ESS, in the middle of our laneway on Adelaide Street, and bought to life literally two weeks later (pressure is our jam*).
Why? You know what, why not? Small business is a tough gig at times, and collaboration is where it’s at. Working with those around us, supporting them when they’re down and celebrating their successes like they’re our own, is something we can’t get enough of.
There really is power in collaboration. By pooling our skills, products and ideas together, we produced something we could not have done alone, have built new working relationships and reached new audiences/customers. Not only that, but we all got out of our comfort zones, moving away from our usual ‘styles’. Heck, yes!
So, love it or hate it, we hope this shoot gives you a new perspective of our beloved town, gets you thinking about doing business differently, and inspires you to reach out to a fellow businesses owner.
Who knows, something incredible might happen.
Rox & Jess
*Pressure is so not our jam. But we did it and it was totally worth it! Phew!
